The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. 商业片和故事片的巧妙结合，门外汉也能沉浸其中，特别喜欢"斗器"和"认爹"两场戏，没有花里胡哨的剧作设置，只有简单纯粹的的古董探险。每个人无一搭边，却一人一色演绎出其特色，最后情感的落脚点也很好。在许一城的年代，或许没有是非黑白，一些隐藏之下的灰暗，是我们该深刻反思的内容。佛头是真是假，人的双面皮是黑是白，真相是何，都不重要了，笑过，哭过，来过，明白过，探索过，感受过，就足够了。
有些人的演技可真的是叫做念PPT，辛苦他背了。
