The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. 毫无新意的翻拍之作，配角居然比主演表现的还要好？！真不知道怎么选角的。就这样吧，还不如看它原版。
导演拍得不错，但是没有超越原版，文本上基本没改，视听上各玩各色。Gee, Officer Krupke这首歌的改编得不错，原版是当着警察的面唱的，这版里没有，是少年们的自说自话，更加突出了发生在他们身上的“社会性缺失”。主演表现基本失败。

Unlike Bruce Lee’s martial arts, actors fail to express themselves truly through body movements or singing, although Spielberg's mise-en-scene nails it, the 2021 version of WSS is far from a good remake. Still love it for speaking up for the minorities.

莎翁剧底本，牛逼的调度，文化的缩影
可能是两版的观影间隔太短了，看第二版总觉得更难熬一些。主线完全一样，最明显的区别是配角们被弱化了，不仅是镜头刻画的削减，整个画面构图也花哨许多，大多人物被融进了背景当中，甚至到了分不清谁是谁的地步。增了些为剧情服务的铺垫，但... 依然很离谱啊。
1. 个人心目中，西城故事的女主应该是Anita，各种版本的卡司都很出彩。
