The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. 坦白说这是一部很讨巧的电影:从取材——这几年的热门，疯狂孤僻艺术家的一生；到选角——本尼，克莱尔等等知名演员；再到拍摄手法——适度的蒙太奇+旁白叙事+时间轴讲述，等等。但我仍会为这样的人生，这样的故事所触动。

我觉得导演肯定不是猫党，拍不好猫就肯定拍不好一个猫痴的一生。
本质上是个爱情片，同时又割舍不掉画猫这一部分，很牵强地用“world is beautiful”来串联，非常散乱。
以为爱情可以拯救幻想症患者，其实，没有什么可以拯救他，猫也不行
人物塑造的不够立体，靠演员和舞美留住观众不退场
姐弟部分的内容怪怪的 不过插叙那部分还是有点触动

本尼是天才型的演员。电影的服化布景精致用心，但最打动我的是最后那些画。
在看过本尼那么多电影之后，我在这部电影中突然反应过来，其实他擅长的不是演天才，而是演孤独，各种与时代格格不入的孤独。难怪他不怎么接爱情戏，两个人的爱情戏真是他的弱点，但是一个人的爱情戏却是他的强项，因为只有一个人的爱是会让人发疯的孤独。
本来以为是奔波建火车站的故事，类似肖申克的救赎写信，结果变感情片，又变亲情，又变励志片，最后又回到感情片了…. 他姐姐和他爸爸情节反转这里还挺感人

电影整体色彩搭配很好看，有一帧画面是路面、老式汽车的线条和男主骑的自行车处在一个水平线上，视觉效果非常好。
