The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. When a dinner party conversation leads to an honest discussion about the state of their love life, and when a sexy bikini photo shoot leads to crossword puzzles instead of sex, they begin to flirt with a way to spice things up. 电影版的《厨房机密》，一镜到底的镜头，始终对准餐厅对准后厨，叙述了一个周末晚上所发生的事。剧本非常扎实，演员的功夫也炉火纯青，导演的调度相当不错，全片自始至终一直很有张力，也挺抓人。餐厅的后厨，其实每天也是神经高度紧张，事情不断，颇有些刀光剑影的样子。
