Arkham, 1975: Jonathan Davis' father has disappeared. His tracks lead to Germany, to the Swabian-Franconian Forest where he was stationed after the Second World War. brutashell review - 'Filmed in black and white and primarily spoken in German, it is obvious that Die Farbe did not have a huge budget to work with. Effects are minimal and the cast is utterly unknown. I should point out that these are all good things, and work very much in the film's favour. There is no CGI to rely on, no name actors to carry it. Rather, the filmmakers do the unthinkable: they create a genuine atmosphere of unimaginable dread and unspeakable horror, using shadow, suggestion and rare splashes of that Nameless colour in a few select frames. In short, they did a damn good job. Die Farbe is subtle in its mounting horror, nurturing a dark dread deep in your bowels with every shot. All of the best and most stomach-turningly distressing films I’ve ever seen have come out of Germany: M, The Cabinet Of Dr. Caligari, The White Ribbon, and now this one. Leave it to the Germans. We know how to gross you out on the deepest psychological levels.
Lovecraft worshippers and devotees of German Expressionism alike, take heed: seek out and view this film at your earliest possible convenience. It’s a dark, noisome little gem that will squirm into your subconscious and lay its eggs in your sanity. Hey, not everyone gets the honour of being a host organism for the Elder Gods, you know.'
约翰.福特的电影常常使用门框式构图，这部电影频频出现窗框式构图，黑白摄影很美甚至让人觉得摄影师已经陶醉在了自己的摄影中。有人说像罗马但是感觉上也有点博格丹诺维奇的最后一场电影的味道，当然不管是和罗马比还是和最后一场电影比，这部都只能算是一个小品了。片中片出现了很多经典电影，双虎屠龙，正午，对话中也提到了很多经典，罗宾七侠，消失的地平线，等等。塞伦.希德演的祖父相当好，躺在棺材里的画面一定是在致敬双虎屠龙。PS“我们爱尔兰人不怕颠沛流离，要不然全世界就不会有那么多酒吧了，哈哈哈。”
这小男孩怎么这么油腻
it's actually a bit hard to understand the lines with the accent.. but still such an interesting angle... and it's amazing that some childhood memories seems never fading even after a long time. a powerful work with many heartwarming moments that still resonates with me after the movie. well, TIFF does have taste. ps. it's strange some historic events look so absurd now but at the time..
1.黑白电影
电影一般。不过字幕组能把“England”翻译成“英格兰”而不是“英国”么？人在北爱尔兰，还说自己背井离乡去“英国”，emmm……
就算是刻意地为赋新词强说愁，我也喜欢这份笨拙但真诚的乡愁。
三百年根源的对立，二十世纪后三十年的流血冲突，几次在内战边缘。政治，民族，宗教，这些蔓延在街道社区的仇恨，隔阂，冲突，是笼罩在每一个离开或者留下来的人一生之中的。直到今年还在因脱欧的爱尔兰海边界问题，芬党领导人的防疫问题而引发冲突流血及恐吓。比照电影，是无论如何，都不能以轻佻，软弱来批评的。这种视角的选择，是艰难前进的和平进程中，可贵的真挚感情。
第一眼真的很《罗马》 黑白片讲乡愁 但对标未免质量差太多 毕竟罗马也不仅仅讲得这些 表演上小男孩挺灵 喜欢妈妈和爷爷的表演 氮气没什么发挥空间 爸爸的....咱们就是说 没提SAG都是有原因的 KB的电影还是有距离感 我可能体会不到他的电影乐趣了 但好在他自己没在里面演个角色 可能也没有合适的角色吧

电影拍得不错。但就是一段个人的童年回忆，即使配乐美丽如斯，也无法共情。
比《罗马》差了三个《爸妈不在家》，摄影太棒棒了。
电影拍得很好。很多镜头让人过目难忘、意无穷。比如小男孩站在街对面，看着自己的梦中女孩对着窗，梳着一头金色长发，窗映出女孩的脸，不知女孩是在看自己、还是看对面的人。再比如爷爷去世后，满脸皱纹的奶奶看着对面街的巴士，跟儿子对视，用唇语说着“GO，dont look back”慢慢地，也不用离奇的剧情、煽情的对白，眼泪早就打起了转。个人认为比《roma》更引人共情。
导演的童年回忆改编 60年代宗教信仰导致北爱尔兰内乱 有人留守 有人离开 走上不同的人生道路 有罗马的影子 也是黑白电影 剧情太平淡了 冲突也不够激烈 并没有觉得时代变化对小人物产生了影响 而且用小孩子的视角看上去 更显得没有事件感和年代感 总之 我不喜欢 看得昏昏欲睡
可能是有点想拍一部像罗马一样的电影，不过感觉还是差了一些。不过对童年和家人的描绘很是不错，在混乱的时期，家人就是最好的支柱。另，配乐很不错，尤其还听到了Declan唱过的几首民谣
画面、运镜和配乐都很有特点，虽然是在讲略沉重的过去、但风格很现代，有种“时隔多年再忆起”的印象派感觉，影片故事就一般般，不过又是一位演员出身的导演，很厉害
真没什么可取之处，倒是觉得多南在片里莫名有种收敛的性感。
不了解爱尔兰国情的，被开篇惊到。。。生活在莫名仇视的社区里真令人恐慌。。。小男孩巴迪非常可爱，他和相濡以沫的爷爷奶奶的对话总是稚趣十足，前半部社区混乱对人们生活的影响刻画生动，后半部妈妈纠结于移民，似无必要，毕竟移民去英国，无论生活品质还是安全都会有保证。。。爸爸帅妈妈美
别的不说，有些影调有种迫冲的感觉，真不错。话说我也差不多是这样异地夫妻环境成长的唉～
主要是棚拍的天主教街区让我很困惑，我不知道该拿它当实验影响《狗镇》那样看待，还是就真他妈假布景一坨屎？
