The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 男子「花样」游泳队需要「男子气概」撑场吗？显然不，相对于「男性雄风」来说，这群正等待着「被定义」的少年人更需要「女性气质」加持。非常遗憾，女性在《五个扑水的少年》里不是藏在男性的「自我」想象、凝视和规训当中，就是「自愿」翻过身去——成功被「花式」父权「征服」同化——成为社会「分工」人。讽刺的是，少年人放弃自己「定义自己」的权利而去，转而投靠身在体制内，心却游离于理想与现实之间的「成功学」教练门下——倘若「前任」教练定义下的「我们」是关在笼中唯命是从的海豚，那么取而代之的「新任教练」则是「老奸巨猾」明显带着「江湖」气息难以被「文明」驯服「整天装酷扮帅」的「野生」雄狮。影片对少年人的快速「社会化」成长过程有任何反思吗？没有，直到最后一幕「营养」专家还在诡辩和鸡娃。可是理想喂多了，就容易——欺诈。

五个男生都很特别，只是学霸存在感太弱，整个角色更像是为了引出他有个男主暗恋的姐姐。感情线虽是条未完结的支线，但真的好青春，仅仅是发现“原来她认识我”这样细微的事，都会高兴好一阵子。// 整个故事后1/3就是为波折而波折，把前面的快乐硬拖得索然无味。// 镜头美感超赞，是整部电影最大的亮点，尤其星光下屋顶上独自蹦床的少年，那剪影孤独却满是希望。// 辛柏青这个发型真的不错，五个男生剪了圆寸后发现李孝谦最帅。圆寸帅才是真的帅！！！
五个扑水的少年：本来期待很高但还是有点尬，说不上来。日本原版就很好很彻底，好多年前看的了，一翻是妻夫木聪[天啊]
《地球之夜》是我很喜欢的电影诶，和《花束》观感不同，北影节会放。很难沉浸其中，可能是我看的时候太困了。
这个夏天真的令人感动，这些荷尔蒙爆发的男孩子们一个个扑向泳池的画面让人血脉喷张。太好看了，国产青春片，很励志。
陪孩子们看的。看了一下，是翻拍的日本同名电影。电影拍摄和编剧都一般，不过意思表达的不错，尤其是作为队长的主角，定位是不上不下的平庸之流。一般的文艺作品表现优秀或者差烂的比较多，而中等平庸之辈被关注的不多，而他们其实也是自己的困惑、迷茫和痛苦。
缺点可能是BGM过多过滥

其实平常不爱看青春片，但是这部表现很好，不矫情不刻意，看大家闹闹腾腾的感觉就像是霸道总裁看着他进办公室都会摔倒的笨蛋女人一样，觉得简直莫名其妙，但是还挺可爱。花游的部分也用心了，很好看。
就算是移植的，也是本土化很好啦！有泪目到，青春真好啊，一点点突破桎梏，在哪里都让人热泪盈眶。真好
2022/02/23@シネ・リーブル梅田。我单方面宣布是今年日影优秀作品之一。看预告的第一帧就喜欢得不行，主题曲也是第一耳就觉得很棒，在唱片店听到每次都会驻足听完。分手的男女在后来的生活里会偶尔突然想起和前任的一些往事，没有大喜大悲。电影里的场景转换让人的心理上有一种fade out和fade in的感觉，而这种拍摄又不是通过物理的剪切实现的，正好就符合了电影作品名‘ちょっと思い出しただけ’，真是一种高超的讲故事手法。東京テアトル怎么尽拍这种淡淡的情侣日常而且还能拍得这么好看！可惜就是发行方不太行，排片场次和院线都太少，今天休息日电影院全场满座，全都是二十多岁最多三十岁的年轻人。
缺点可能是BGM过多过滥
这是青春该有的样子，热血，搞笑，感动。青春无畏，自己才能定义的人生
每当看完这种平实落地的片，离场前都想说一声ご馳走さまでした。抓住了一个人与两个人时的日常细节状态。喜欢他在路边吃蛋糕然后“审视”行人的那一段，甚至不用去讲什么海洋星空，任何时候只要停下来看，自我的存在会变得并无所谓。（以及池松壮亮，谢谢你，本人宣布彻底从唯爱长发男的癖好毕业，第一次见这么不适合长发的霓虹金，没有说演员本人不帅的意思😅
想谈恋爱， 想初见时很尴尬，想微醺时一起舞蹈，想无论何时何地的做很多次爱，想试探自卑辗转反侧，想等待想互相折磨，想看自我层层剥落，想经历这些日复一日直到终于无可挽回走向陌路。
今天在ipad上看的，好电影，谢谢导演，需要这样的电影，欠你一张电影票。
没看原版，本土化部分做的挺好的，故事也挺完整，青春真好
