The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. When a dinner party conversation leads to an honest discussion about the state of their love life, and when a sexy bikini photo shoot leads to crossword puzzles instead of sex, they begin to flirt with a way to spice things up. 以看似支离破碎的时间线穿插，逐步道出争相，桑德拉这回全程落魄，扮演负罪之人，被世人所不理解，甚至谩骂殴打，也调侃体制笑话，悲叹命运颠沛，简单的故事让导演的手法烘焙的更有看点，曲折乃至深刻，但本身文本回转欠缺，惊喜度大打折扣，只凭一己之力演技支撑，复仇那条线本来也很鸡勒，线里的出轨段落更狗血，总归，一切一切的一切，只为让血缘关系的重新交错，跋山涉水的努力靠近，只为结尾那一次轻轻的拥抱，熟悉又陌生，疏离又亲切，模糊的记忆瞬时清晰可见，牵盼的人就在一线之间，对角色最好不过的关照和慰藉，难能可贵的是，如此克制却又如此动人。★★★
