The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 而《光年正传》中，巴斯光年唯一想做的就是改变自己的的错误，区别是，在长官的引导下，现在的巴斯光年向前看找解决方案，而穿越的老巴斯光年，想的是如何改变过去。
剧情推进得如此直白，缺乏想象力和深度，普通到不像皮克斯的作品，不明白为啥要给这部电影开绿灯，尤其是系列前作的精神仍存(玩具4都有点狗尾嫌疑），破坏了一些东西，又没有建立什么东西，像是一场硬上的戏，玩具粉看完除了惋惜就无话可说了。延伸到电影外，因同性情节就被声势浩大地抵制，根本没必要，“电影没那么可怕”，这句话放在世界上哪个国度都适用。
没什么逻辑的儿童电影+玩具总动员前传外传，但节奏不错看着也挺开心的。平行世界/时光倒流这个完全就是不讲理……再说燃料配料sox都记得啊！原料也可以可以开采啊！原本的装置不会轻易撤掉吧，这个反派就很没有说服力。但sox猫猫真得转移了所有不合理的剧情，一拖三的闹心剧情也可以忍受。啊我好想要sox，明明猫猫才是最容易被玩具化出现在toy story里的吧！
整个大框架大背景的故事还可以，但落实到具体的剧情推进转折，以及人物想法转变等等细节编排地不好，处处是失误去推动，配角也完全不讨喜，或许缩短时长，简洁明快地讲一个幽默有趣的故事即可。
剧情中规中矩，某些笑点和关于科技的想象还是挺不错的，多加一颗星给猫猫，皮克斯版的机器猫也好可爱啊。谁没做过拥有一个机器猫的梦呢？LGBT的那点情节几乎可以忽略不计，没必要敏感。最后大boss的设定我觉得一般，并不邪恶，只是让所有人重活一回，未必不是个人生选择，平行宇宙嘛，没准很多人会选以另一种轨迹再活一次呢？
制作水准上没的说，在冒险类型的框架下做了很多大场面的尝试，有一丝星战的感觉，保证娱乐性也基本上完成了巴斯光年起源故事的讲述，不过作为皮克斯的动画这并不让人非常满意，前半个小时的故事节奏和主题还是让我比较喜欢，探讨人生的选择，同性线加的也不违和，算是一个小泪点，但当后面的菜鸟小队出现后就非常凌乱了，靠大量笑点填充情节直接漫威化，煽情套路也非常老旧，扎克大魔王也直接魔改了身份，与玩具总动员2直接冲突，看完这部还是感觉到了皮克斯目前的创作力的下降，希望皮克斯后面的重心还是在原创动画上，做衍生也至少要拿出来《玩具总动员4》的诚意。（6.5/10）
工整干爽的皮克斯电影，剧情完整且制作上乘，特效华丽且动作漂亮。
皮克斯拉低自身平均值的一部影片。我觉得迪士尼太内卷了，漫威搞平行宇宙，好像这部电影也有搞的意图，前有黑化奇异博士，现有黑化巴斯光年。故事就不吐槽了，流水线嘛。
冲桃子配音来看的。没怎么看过皮克斯的动画电影，也没看过《玩具总动员》系列，故而也没有太多落差，整体观感还可以。虽然刻意削弱了科幻部分，但还是感觉得到风格很像《星际迷航》一类的太空冒险题材，时间穿越，平行世界之类。剧情挺有意思的，尤其前三分之一很好看，后三分之二的主线就略显老套了，但仍算有趣。结尾彩蛋看出似乎原本有拍续集的打算，不知道票房口碑双扑的情况下会不会放弃。PS.精神顺直白右又开喷了，脑子真的不好使呢。
最好别带小孩去看这部迪士尼动画大片。要不你还得解释为啥两个女人可以结婚，以及为啥俩女人结婚了也可以怀孕生小孩。除非你特别想解释。知道佐格大王会登场，但没想到佐格居然是这种人设和背景。影片里有不少星战系列的影子。我甚至记得之前看动画片时，有一次巴斯做梦，梦见佐格对他说：我是你爸爸！
不敢相信这是皮克斯作品，迪士尼哥霍霍老IP续作真的有一手，星战已死，漫威已死，皮克斯已死。还有黑白人种一比一加女同真的无比政治正确，现在不加这些就不会拍电影了是不是。
剧情还行。个人看后最大的感悟就是：速度=时间，感觉做事真的要快，不然什么都没做成就已经老了。
如果不是皮克斯出品我会打4星，后半段看的我血压上来了

《玩具总动员》系列口碑和票房都是影史顶端。作为皮克斯的招牌系列，影迷对这个系列的期待值会非常高。
想象力的缺失是当下美国动画电影最大的问题。
