The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 甘古是怎么成为了拉拉的妹妹呐？仅凭这么几句话。拉拉是她一生中的贵人。我不认为电影的拍摄技法叙述手段里有出彩的地方，平平无奇罢了 三星献给甘古拜 要知道在一个女性地位一直低下的国度去宣扬平等，为女性奋斗本身是一件难上加难的事情。
首先，我不赞同卖淫合法化。
虽然困难在电影里都被描述的过于简单，但是并不代表那个女孩没有曾冲破重重牢不可破的阻碍绽放出耀眼的生命之光
后半段有点太顺利哈哈 但确实挺传奇的 有几个场景真的很美很飒很有气势啊
谷阿莫的剪辑少了很多内容！看评论里很多个十万个为什么，毕竟宁没有深处在哪个国家，自己意淫别人应该怎样怎样真的很狭隘。她把自己武装成男人，粗鄙的举止之下又有谁能理解她内心的柔弱？剧情构建的相当不错了，留的线头至少我看到的都给了答案。啥时候跟记者磕cp啊！
把那些慢镜头删掉可以节省三分之一的时间，被卖入妓院还能一路打怪升级成红灯区揸fit人，甘谷白的能力确实强，再加上她把握住了黑社会大佬有原则的的特点为自己争取到了强有力的靠山，这是她能翻身最重要的原因。
本来感觉只是消遣时间的爽剧，没想到女主演技和总体制作都很精湛。演讲那段我很喜欢，加一星。
某些观点不能认同。考虑到印度的国情和时代的局限性，对于这些处于社会底层而且没有办法寻求更好出路的妓女而言，如果从法律层面上能够有相应保障的话，或许对她们来说是一个比较好的事情。不懂为什么有那么多人高高在上！一定要说的话，男人才是万恶之源。电影故事性很强，导演的审美依然在线，女主人设也好演技也好，希望可以看到更多这种类型的女主。

女性中需要每个人都站起来为我们自己奋斗和争取平权，不能把这个世界继续让给另一性别继续“统治”。
片子结尾那句“电影明星的海报每周五都会换一轮，但甘古拜不一样，她的照片在卡马提普拉的墙上放了五十年。”诉说了孟买黑手党女王甘古拜传奇而富有争议的一生，片中的那段演讲也非常精彩，甘古拜在泥沼中的不屈和强势令人愤慨和敬佩，她用尽一切手段争取了底层失足女性应有的权利。印度电影传统艺能来了四五段歌舞，有的升华了故事，有的又有些破坏了气氛，而且片中有几段看爽片的感觉，有时有种一切太顺利的错觉，话说回来，是一部优秀作品。
性工作者，无论在哪都是一个备受歧视的职业，但印度作为卖淫合法化的国家之一，性工作者也任是夹缝求存，《星期四》中，有个描述让我至今难忘——“从你开始看这部电影，据统计印度已有8名妇女被强J，同类型的电影却是一部比一部更让我震撼！印非电影总是能让我庆幸我生中国。
在各种MTV中穿插着故事的这部电影，的确让人大开眼界了。一个原本出生高种姓家庭的女孩因年少无知被卖到妓院，但她意识到已经无法在回归自己的日常后，不是以泪洗面，而是在现有条件下奋起，仅凭这点就很厉害了。其实对影片中讲到的合法化，肯定不能作为一个可以被认同的价值观，但这个台阶之所以下不来，也是因为电影立意过高了，我倒认为甘谷白这一提议完全是为自己生意考虑。她能在那种环境下成为top，仅凭高尚怎么可能做到。
拐卖人口，买卖同罪
女主角很漂亮，音乐舞蹈也不错，可惜这样一部电影还是应该立意更高的。
开始我看什么公众号推荐以为是传记类电影，结果是小说改编。整个就变成了一个印度爽剧，莫名其妙的成功和莫名其妙的女权，女主凭什么从这么多人里面脱颖而出呢，就靠脸吗？？
剧情张力十足，扣人心弦，看得十分过瘾，不忍放下，这还不是好电影吗？女性的刻画十分具体，成长的轨迹也铺陈的扎扎实实。最让心难以忘怀的是整部电影的怀旧滤镜，沉浸在一种历史的想象中。
