The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. Darren and Annie still enjoy each other’s company and laugh at each other’s jokes, but, unfortunately, they can’t remember the last time they had sex. When a dinner party conversation leads to an honest discussion about the state of their love life, and when a sexy bikini photo shoot leads to crossword puzzles instead of sex, they begin to flirt with a way to spice things up. The deal: one night of freedom, no strings attached, no questions asked. Could a freebie be the cure for their ailing sex life? And will they go through with it? With a keen eye and fresh take, Aselton’s directorial debut shines with crisp storytelling and fine-tuned performances. 好喜欢呀，朴素现实主义+伍迪·艾伦。生活哪里有神话，也不至于只是个笑话，认真活着的人都是可爱的。

对当代性和都市性的一个漂亮切片，某种程度上说是对上海modern life文化的接续。精巧又扎实，想想这故事发生在上海实在是太理所应当了，可发生在别的城市又的确让人难以置信。
不一样的地方是两性关系的设定不再刻板狗血，反而都是活生生有自己想法的独立人格人，每个年龄段都是。
有些灵气，但导演对视听不敏感，没有明显长板。说是生活流，也没提取出个什么，说是剧情设计，也很随意的从关于李小姐直接转到关于格洛丽亚再到关于老乌。根本原因还是小资品味天然不适合中国银幕。
小神话。市井，烟火，小资，文艺，腔调，味道，很上海。但很小的面向，方方面面都过于干净、美好了一些。
我相信老乌和索菲亚·罗兰的故事，老乌在《The Soldier's Sweetheart》的悠扬乐声中离开了上海，回到了他心心念念的罗马，他会再一次遇见索菲亚·罗兰，与她一起喝街头咖啡，一起看费里尼的《爱情神话》，重新谱写属于他们的爱情神话。
烟火向星辰，所爱皆成真。有趣的灵魂与多元的魔都相得益彰，出色的群像电影。
最后一镜的想法确实好，如此更衬出正片的夹生感，在难得玲珑清透的叙事和耍小聪明间反复横跳。视听也是太学生作业，仅有的几处亮点设计都失之悬浮。
还有红拂夜奔护手霜之类的细节也值得玩味。太棒了！为导演点赞！
《愛情神話》好看。靈的。很驚艷國產片有這樣不矯情不狗血的生活片。妙趣橫生。有況味。了不起的。幾個中年男女。互相折磨。互相糾纏。生活淡出個鳥來。但人生無時無刻不悶騷。年度好片。喜別2021。

刻画入木三分 角色全都立起来了…荒谬中的浪漫 真香
影片全程飙上海话，徐峥说「你就把它当成伍迪艾伦的电影来看就行了」……表面是说看配音不误，也透露了风格参照系：城市、爱情、话痨、俏皮、知识分子气……确实有点伍迪艾伦电影的意思，还是导演处女作，挺难的。
