The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 很久前我就意识到所谓“唯一的灵魂伴侣”是个伪命题，身边的伴侣往往是天时地利人和的结果，换个条件状态心境，可能关系就会天差地别，甚至不会成为身边人。我们以独立个体状态进入关系，而关系又会在不知不觉中塑造我们，重点不是“唯一”，而是专注和“眼前有缘的那一个”的发展。但电影有趣（和有更多可能性）的地方，是让人看到和不同对象与不同状况下合情合理的发展，恰到好处的切换也让观赏更有趣味。很可爱的意大利小片~

从题材到卡司都很喜欢，但是2小时的叙事好像什么都没说… 喜欢李慧英的线
剧情温馨治愈，拍摄把圣诞和跨年的氛围感拉足，很适合假期窝在沙发里看。能同时把这么多条线讲清楚也是很棒了。但是，开头演员表就看到了林允儿，等了又等也不见她，到我都忘记还有她出演的时候，她出现了…而且她感情线也挺莫名其妙的…
剧情老套，但是很适合放松心情观看。大概剧情都能猜到。

看的时候很混乱，搞不懂剧情，慢慢入戏了，就开始渐入佳境。彼此相似的人，因为你像我，所以我爱你。但是哪有完美契合的理想情人？彼此不同的人，因为彼此差异而相互吸引，有这么多差异想，我还是想爱你，所以相互磨合妥协，为彼此变成不够完美的爱人。我觉得为了爱你，愿意改变自己的爱情，才能走得更久吧。

姜河那cut好歹还有俩笑点，其他的真就一点没有值得看的，我不明白金英光那段，不祝福又能怎么地？
我也觉得是这样，选定一个人，是可以互相调节的，不过有的容易点，有的难点。但是要选定，只要相信那是，有些人靠依恋程度确定，有些人靠别的，有人容易点，有人难点。
插曲都很好听，剧情…很无语，轻快合家欢≠浮皮潦草不过脑
没有那么不堪吧… 刚开始看确实没抱啥希望，但没想到看到最后泪目了。除了光洙那条线其他都还挺自然的啊，细细看完真的很温馨。有被老年组感动到。
