The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. 它在有限的演员身上安放两三个角色，配合简单的道具，从而塑造不同的群像，搭建出丰富的场景，但又并不让观众觉得混乱，很多简单的转场效果极佳。
