The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. Darren and Annie still enjoy each other’s company and laugh at each other’s jokes, but, unfortunately, they can’t remember the last time they had sex. When a dinner party conversation leads to an honest discussion about the state of their love life, and when a sexy bikini photo shoot leads to crossword puzzles instead of sex, they begin to flirt with a way to spice things up. The deal: one night of freedom, no strings attached, no questions asked. Could a freebie be the cure for their ailing sex life? And will they go through with it? With a keen eye and fresh take, Aselton’s directorial debut shines with crisp storytelling and fine-tuned performances. 传记电影不容易过脑
这才是能淋漓呈现当下流媒优势的音像制品，尽管电影语法/结构性较弱，LMM还是为其注入了难得轻逸的律动感。两种艺术体裁的融合不止体现于即兴唱段，还有情绪和画面的巧妙对接（泳道幻化成的五线谱，经典的天台抒情段落，偌大体育场内孤独的钢琴）。喜欢用脱口秀做scene-switching point的创意，观众直到结尾才露面，是对叙事上自传式口吻的印证。很多细节固然还可以深挖，但维持在目前的水平业已令人动容。生命倒计时前的任性执着，恰到好处的鸡血和感伤。

使用音乐剧作为全片载体是对原型的最大尊重，重要的是首首好听。
电影和小说的失落者仿佛永远都会获得成功，
看到好多音乐剧大佬的客串。剪辑很好，音乐的表现力也挺有想法。加菲真的能唱，有点意外。

44/365 “希望人生的每一天都这样度过”
同为LMM的作品，比起《In the Heights》，我更喜欢这部（好多重合的演员），不仅剧情跟紧凑，歌曲也更好，加菲的表演很加分。ITH中只有一首印象深刻的歌，这部则太多了，最喜欢的还是Therapy，特别是歌词，笑死我了：I'm saying I feel bad, that you feel bad；About me feeling bad, about you feeling bad；About what I said, about what you said；About me not being able to share a feeling。

很喜欢这部里关于友情和爱情的一些美好与不圆满，比男主本身的创作经历更吸引人
肉眼可见的那种好看，时刻感受着扑面而来的热爱与执着，生活与事业，友情和爱情，相互对照彰显出「人生处处是舞台」的真谛，歌舞不错，加菲表演出彩。

电影中那首几乎磨死乔纳森的金曲《胜于话语》里，创作者问到，“恐惧还是爱？别说出答案。”
No.3 有人活得像夜晚的星，不需要天天为人指路，却能长久安慰失意的路人。
加菲的演技实在是一百分 但是剧作的节奏差些火候 观感并不上乘 似乎面面俱到 但也导致笔墨太散 缺少一锤定音的高潮
这几年我唯一能欣赏的歌舞剧只有lalaland。
这不比《安妮特》好看好听，也更写实走心。鲍勃·福斯拍《伦尼的故事》，林曼努尔拍“乔纳森·拉森的故事”，一种惺惺相惜和自况，还有本片从叙述到剪辑借鉴前者颇多。
Sunday，游泳池的五线谱，体育场的独唱……让人印象深刻。倒数计时，坚持热爱，去写自己熟悉的生活。
