剧情介绍

The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. Darren and Annie still enjoy each other’s company and laugh at each other’s jokes, but, unfortunately, they can’t remember the last time they had sex. When a dinner party conversation leads to an honest discussion about the state of their love life, and when a sexy bikini photo shoot leads to crossword puzzles instead of sex, they begin to flirt with a way to spice things up. The deal: one night of freedom, no strings attached, no questions asked. Could a freebie be the cure for their ailing sex life? And will they go through with it? With a keen eye and fresh take, Aselton’s directorial debut shines with crisp storytelling and fine-tuned performances.     剧本值得细品，前期铺垫算牌人过往的部分很老辣，不知不觉就被算牌这个麦高芬带到他的内心世界，挣扎和期望建立起来之后再推倒。Tye Sheridan的角色算是外化算牌人内心矛盾冲突的其中一方。节奏控制很好，创造出惊悚悬疑感。Paul Schrader说把男主角安排成算牌人是因为算牌是等待的游戏。不足的可能只有视听，朴赞郁拍的话可以再拔高一个台阶。

    我相信很多影迷不买账的原因除了摸不着头脑的氛围营造（对白、配乐等），很重要的一点在于这种后《出租车司机》人设真的已经挺多的了，施拉德自己编剧的《穿梭阴阳界》也有很高的相似度。所以核心还是看人物动作—算牌以及牌局与主题的结合，我觉得是挺不错的。伊萨克在牌桌上的遭遇就是他人生境遇的缩影—本无意却不得不，在可控情况下才能勉强掌控的自己的命运，而一旦与伤害自己的体制搏斗，最终都会如期失败。将他自己所崇拜的布列松式存在主义命题加入美国社会观察，几乎一直都是施拉德的创作母题，本片亦不例外。
