The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. 第一次看《熊出没》电影，观影过程就：啊，给这么多？你只是个儿童动画片啊！

4.5 其实前半段都对这个充满着戾气的父亲不抱有好感，在女儿发生意外之后才知道珍惜，不顾一切近乎霸蛮式的为女儿讨要公道。但后面在导演的渐进铺垫中，原来是不能原谅自己就这样让女儿离开，在后面笨拙的开始绘画、看漫画，直到结尾因为画作的释然真的是层层铺进，剧作相当的扎实。其实桃李和女司机的故事线还是在为主线服务，但是能够这样多线兼顾已经很不错了。
主人公偏执的性格使全片氛围压抑，然而是不断继续伤害还是放过别人，直到全片的转折点主人公与女肇事者母亲的对话给出答案。
