The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. Darren and Annie still enjoy each other’s company and laugh at each other’s jokes, but, unfortunately, they can’t remember the last time they had sex. When a dinner party conversation leads to an honest discussion about the state of their love life, and when a sexy bikini photo shoot leads to crossword puzzles instead of sex, they begin to flirt with a way to spice things up. The deal: one night of freedom, no strings attached, no questions asked. Could a freebie be the cure for their ailing sex life? And will they go through with it? 看点在决斗，决斗很精彩。重点在女性，女性很屈辱。都在提《罗生门》，罗生门的三段叙述里有真有假，彼此矛盾。而这部片子的三段叙述都是真，没有假，属于三个人的三种视角。二者并不相同。
小制作的精品电影。人的一生也就是这一幕幕，哭了笑了麻了痛了，一碗孟婆汤忘记所有；然而活着的当下，还是要用力活精彩这一生

#SGIFF#风格绮丽，几组长镜头和诗歌的运用恰到好处，☯︎交替的转换也颇有创意，阴间也和阳间一样。时代浮沉下小人物的命运能被拍得如此魔幻现实，真的很难得。 如果说缺点的话，就是时长太久了，叙事的话用诗歌作为间隔也显得取巧了。

绝对五星，名副其实的华语年度最佳！荒诞的艺术，光怪陆离的社会变迁，《霸王别姬》的隔空对唱，模糊舞台和荧幕的扑面而来的丁达尔效应，极具个人色彩和地方特色的空灵的戏梦版的表达
最后的决斗不是为女性的尊严战斗，只是为了男性的财产所有权和荣誉战斗。三个不同视角都没有废话，两个半小时的片长很值得。Jodie的戏太好了，其实台词没多少，这双眼睛太会演了。Ridley Scott 确实不会令我失望。
三段式三个视角非常完美的结构，女性视角升华全片。男女视角对比的subtle difference真的又讽刺又让人愤怒。Jodie Comer把细节演得太到位了共情到全身心投入。

里面这几句印象深刻。
让人间有鬼气，让地府有生气。在哪都一样，怎么都接着过日子，几十年来尽如此，反而是种终极宽慰吧。
从《痴》《姑奶奶》到《椒麻堂会》，一路证明，邱炯炯是天才。
三幕递进其实还挺考验女主表演功底的。
