The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 2.5 依然是所谓的东方符号堆砌、本质上和东方没啥关系的架空片，好莱坞对东方的幻想简直还停留在黄柳霜年代，时至今日居然还在看这样的老套情节，还在听和几十年前一样的“美式”东方音乐，婚纱照和神龙配色救命，大鱿鱼摄魂怪也毫无想象力，洛夫克拉夫特表示：我白养活你们了；京东又来大刷存在感——侧面表明预想中能上院线本应铁板钉钉的，结果.... 无论如何都啥年头了竟连一部根本不用当回事的漫威片都无法在大银幕看到，这才是最讽刺的事
最起码不是很差的漫威（比《蚁人2》和《钢铁侠3》不是强多了），就是整体质感有点廉价，故事线简单粗暴。akwafina真的是天生的喜剧演员，so watchable。动作戏的场景设计也小有巧思。总之要支持亚裔做主角！
像真人版功夫熊猫，还是三部融合在一起的功夫熊猫。配乐出色打戏扎实，英语普通话交错也有点fresh off the boat的搭配感。如果这都是乳化那建议好莱坞可以放弃拍任何有关中国的电影，如果大陆电影院上映那一定会去影院再支持。
OST好听。中国人就一定要武功高强住在满地神兽盘龙在潭的桃花源里么。跟Raya 还有花木兰里对于亚洲文化的yy如出一辙。

预告剪的没有全片一半精彩，是我格局小了，这部电影真是超出预期的好看~依旧是漫威的大场面，大制作，眼花缭乱但非常丝滑的动作场面，适时出现的笑点，当然更少不了和之前整个漫威宇宙的联动…作为一部商业大片，尚气在剧情上做到了人物饱满故事完整，全片充斥着东方元素而且审美非常在线，尤其是后半部分，特效和场景设计更是非常惊艳，整部片子看下来可以肯定漫威对这部片子是真的走心了…只可惜，片子从选角开始就争议不断，一部全片有一半都在说普通话的好莱坞大片，我们竟然是那个不能在大银幕上看的…最后日常吼一句，梁朝伟真是连皱纹都好有魅力~
梁朝伟演技太不错了，这下全世界都知道他眼神能演戏了。电影挺好看的，咋乳化了？~山海经动物还原的很好，致敬了成龙的动作电影，最后出字幕所有人物都以水的形态出现，就像李小龙说的：be water…我觉得他们已经尽全力在歌颂他们所理解的中国了，虽然剧情有漏洞，如果一定说乳了…讽刺了一下重男轻女思想🌝
辱华这件事，没有看出来。虽然有很多美式政治正确，但至少看得出中国文化输出有了进步，文化要素过多且深度流于表面，但也算是有思考有奇思妙想的连结。看得出这个电影符合了世界整文化体价值观，并不断深入并留下好奇的窗口。唯一让我不爽的点就是带女权节奏，尼玛你家都快让女人亡了，还跑这来输出价值观
额 我只想看梁朝伟和杨紫琼对打 然而他们只是对看了一眼
美国大巴、澳门武场的打斗精彩，进入东方秘境后就不过尔尔，结尾沦为怪兽片实属跳类型，一度以为在看哥斯拉大战基多拉。
梁朝伟好帅！打戏很多前半段都还不错直到去了世外桃源，最后打怪兽太无聊太俗套了。6.5分，作为爆米花电影合格，比wakanda好多了，但也就这样了。
真的没看出来哪里辱华
比起国产影视剧里夸张的动作设计，特别注意了片中的动作，按人体运动规律都是可以实现的；自然光，没有磨皮效果，人物显得非常真，也更有魅力；塔落设定仿若桃花源记，兽类取材山海经，一些仙侠元素，不缥缈虚无，皆被赋予了现实感。所以，我觉得好看呀！以至于看的时候我非常想念欧美中国餐馆里不多加酱油、香精的“宫保鸡丁”。不过，它肯定是主动做了妥协，满大人这个反派应该是被削去很多该有的交待，以至于故事许多动机变得生硬了。
3.5 迪士尼努力了，但是很多剧情设定站不住脚，很多笑点也很尬，不过能在同一部好莱坞片里头看到梁朝伟，杨紫琼和元华还是值了
打的很爽，特别是前半段有点成龙港片的味道。中国元素多到怀疑这是不是漫威电影。看的很过瘾，期待尚气和奇异博士的碰撞。

没看出来哪里辱华了，仅仅是男女主角选角审美不符合东方审美罢了。看在他们说中文的份上我觉得也没那么讨厌了。老王的出现真是让我眼前一亮，陈法拉那么多年了还是那么好看。
就是一个国内观众会觉得比较老套的爆米花片吧，跟漫威只有若干细节上的联系，但肯定不至于乳化（还费尽心思辩解了一番满大人的存在，各种向亚裔示好，挺有诚意了）。观感跟花木兰差不多，剧情逻辑就忽略吧，结尾又是两个巨怪PK，真是看腻了。刘思慕照片看着长相平平，但是一身腱子肉一动起来，再加上耍酷的动作设计、特效替身等技术加持，就觉得还不错，五官端正，身型健朗，幽默风趣，人畜无害，应该也不会让人讨厌吧？不比国内那些病恹恹的小鲜肉强？窗外一只巨大的京东狗亮了。
