The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 从饼近几年戏路来看笑死，不需要爱的夏天→变色龙→死笔（恶役）开司→鸠（被恶役欺负），像是年轻时作恶太多，得到报应了哈哈哈
感觉挺好啊，选角花了大心思，托尼、托尼姐姐，托尼叔叔，以及另外几个打手和黑道家族原型非常神似，那时候就有卡米拉了？6.3分太低了，确定你们都看过黑道家族？本来想打四星的，为了中和一下打了五星，哈哈。
我不知道看过六季黑道家族的人看这电影什么感觉，我是没看过，有点摸不到头脑。
感觉这年头黑帮电影如果没有点火爆的动作场面，或者悬疑的剧情，已经不香了，有点怀旧的味道
看的糊里糊涂!云里雾里!前一个小时完全没看明白!后面揭秘了，才算搞明白!有点类似于刺杀小说家吧！不过故意做的很混淆。本来是冲着土屋太凤去看的。没想到她基本就类似于比客串多几分钟戏而已!
饼哥一如既往喜欢高智商角色，可是这个剧在节奏和逻辑上都很不吸引人。
Woke up this morning 片尾的歌声一响起，瞬间就被拉回当年看剧时的感觉，味道很足啊。
好好的片子结尾却做了这么个最没意思的选择，而且让人完全不确定最后到底谁死了谁还活着。都成为都市传说的黑社会老大怎么就那么紧张那三张假钞？事实和小说家的猜测到底差多远？片名是啥意思？啥叫击退法？
并没有那么的感动，有更多极限运动拍得更好。比如威瑟斯彭的《涉足荒野》
以为是哪个老太婆，竟然是大名鼎鼎的娜奥米沃弛，岁月是把杀猪刀啊！这么简单一个题材，做成五分钟的新闻报道就好了，搞成一个半小时是不是有点浪费时间！
电影化的并不成功，虽然小说复杂的线索结构还原出来了，但节奏的问题比较大，最终的戏剧效果也很一般
演员配置挺好的，可惜电影没有那种虚实难分的感觉，不过挺有趣的。
Naomi Watts开始在近年来不断地重复着一种角色- -装着个人悲剧却异常坚毅的勇士，在各种环境下都将挑战自己的平凡英雄；每次付出的心血让人尊重，也慨叹她从不怠慢任何故事。这里的趣味和新鲜或许应该是Małgorzata Szumowska用完全不同身份掌控很常见的求生故事，但这里却没被允许有任何充满个人特质的发挥；只能按部就班地走着，先各种极端之下从放弃到振作，其次是托陈心魔…即使从摄影、动作到表演都游刃有余，但很难再有更多的感悟。意外是Naomi和Billy Howle齐力提供了如《远山恋人》「Kate Winslet与Idris Elba」那般的默契与不错的配合，期待一个再合作。
“如果你们愿意相信我，就请你们鼓掌吧！你没有这种经历吗？虽然已经束手无策，但还是希望有奇迹发生。如果只要鼓掌精灵就可以不用死去，那我也会感到一些安慰。下次要是到了束手无策的时候，我会试着鼓掌的。”
对意大利黑帮题材还是比较有好感的。但毕竟前有《教父》之类经典高不可攀，后期想有所突破的确很困难。
蓝光原盘，音画效果一流，风景如画。剧情：在山顶“一个男人在作，一女个人在救”但故事里的故事却是悲剧的背景……（美女老了！55岁了，岁月不饶人啊！）
风光很美，可看性超过故事性。普通人可能永远不会深处那种险境，一旦遇上就是灵魂试炼，相信每个人不同的命运，不鄙视选择放弃的人，但是当有人伸出援手的时候，应该勇敢地接受，英雄也需要相互成就!
就让导演带着走吧
一开始就得抖擞精神搞清现实与虚构，到后来就有种看疯狂的石头，两杆大烟枪之类的感觉，就是节奏有点慢
