A brilliant and outragously funny satire of society, 7 December 1999

"Flodder" is one of the funniest movies ever made and few people realise that it is a Dutch movie made by none other than the Holland version of John Carpenter, the famous Dick Maas, author and director of the thriller "Amsterdamned". The Flodder family is the reincarnation of the term a-social. When the whole family bunch, basically all bastards, criminals and sluts must be relocated from their City slum because of toxic waste under their house, the city council house no choice. The only available space is in the "Zoendal" - the "Sun Valley" the best area in Amsterdam where all doctors, snobs and businessmen can afford to live their lives. And where the central point of interest and politics is the tennis club of the community. The Flodder family brings devastation to the tranquil world that ruled before. They are simply unbelievable. The characterisation is incredibly funny, beginning with Ma Flodder who searches other people's trash cans for food or making illegal liquor in her cellar and ending with the eldest daughter who is the biggest slut on earth. Together they make the most horrible family imaginable, a sort of immoral mirror image to the Brady Bunch or the Waltons. When the City counsel of Amsterdam hoped that the Flodders would show their good will to be more civilised in their new area, it turns out that Holland's most famous family would rather bring out the worst in the rich people of "Sun Valley"-wonderland. The rest is a hilarious, brilliant and well made social satire that can be watched as a provocative movie as well as a straightforward comedy. Dick Maas at his best. I salute him! Flooder was the Dutch smash hit in 1986 and brought two sequels and a tv series. All of the sequels were nice but not as great as the original.

Why is First Floor Features, the producer of the movie not bringing the Dick Maas blockbusters out on DVD in the Netherlands, I wonder. The are not even available on video there. These movies have so much potential, still to this day and have a huge silent but true following.
看得舒心又揪心，从这个普通人家的故事里，看到自己的小时候，想起今早和母亲通的电话。有的人离开，有的人坚守，生活就像片中神父形容的那样，变成叉子的两个尖尖，从此分叉，但神父又没有全说对，没有哪条路是天堂或地狱，只是不同的人生，因为曾经共同的来处，而互相眺望和想念。
私人回忆又不注重故事叙事该怎么建立共情还是需要不断探索的事情/看着美又累 太多设计过的镜头 仰拍 进一步割裂了本来就不强的情感连接 分成短片或许还行 放一起作为长片实在不太行
影片最大的亮点也在于此，黑白的granny镜片倒映的舞台是彩色的，其他的优点则乏善可陈。

爵爷卸甲归田拍了这部半自传，有些地方拍的还是蛮魔幻，北爱冲突也没描写的太惨烈，目的就是为了给故乡的情书保持温暖的基调吧。小时候我对宗教能引发冲突也会觉得不可思议，现在老了逐步能体会到复杂性。
并没有想象的那么糟糕。虽然有非常多糟糕的调度不明所以的摄影机位置、摄影机角度，可是导演私人的故事所勾连起的上世纪60年代爱尔兰贝尔法斯特地区的历史是迷人的
“故乡”和“他乡”是组相对的概念。在祖父去世前，巴迪眼中的“故乡”只是贝尔法斯特，“他乡”是除了贝尔法斯特之外的任何地方；而当祖父的离世让巴迪看到了生死，“故乡”与“他乡”的意义也随之的分别扩大至“生”与“死”的层面，也许因此巴迪才能平静接受了离开贝尔法斯特的事实，也许巴迪懂得了，只要心中永恒怀揣着对故乡的记忆与怀念，“故乡”就永远不会远离、不会消失，所到即故乡。
一个小男孩的视野，让我想起了杨德昌的《一一》
有人提到，这部电影就是布拉纳的『罗马』，的确，不管是题材还是黑白影像的运用，本片似乎与阿方索·卡隆的『罗马』有着异曲同工之妙，但看完全片你就会发现，这是一部精致工整但缺乏感染力的作品，电影对影像和配乐的运用确实特别考究，黑白影像增加了历史质感，拍摄的角度和构图也堪称教科书级，但在故事和情感表达上，却存在很大缺陷，很多私人情感与时代背景割裂，让人很难找到连接，不可否认会有小感动，但难有大共鸣。与『罗马』给我带来的触动相比，这样的落差也许不仅是因为地域、文化、信仰的差异。当然，导演也不只是夹带自我情感的私货，也借着片中父亲对男孩的教导，道明了自己对这段动荡时期的反思：不管是信仰什么，只要他是个正直善良的人，都可以成为朋友。总的来说，比『罗马』差了不止一个档次，庆幸时长适中，不至于冗长乏味。三星

彩色会让故事更生动，本来就是个活泼的故事和背景，就没必要去用黑白。何况你的配乐还那么流行。

要說也是比較接近Terence Davies吧，怎麼一堆人提到《羅馬》？，2021.12.08
虽然想展示的是动荡年代的故事，但是影片的气质太干净了。尤其是男女主角，找的太漂亮了，共舞那段，也不仅仅是那段，影片的调性没有完全统一。当然，许多细节前后呼应还是蛮钟意的，加酶的洗衣粉广告、父亲高超的投掷能力……总比《斯宾塞》那种直接塞给你的细节展示要好得多。
贝尔法斯特这个名字包含了太多的辛酸与血泪，它有着太黑暗也太沉重的一段过去，而这种种情绪并不是能那么轻易地就表达出来的…

2.5 私人到没有野心，布拉纳只是通过汲取诸位养分完成了一次记忆的还原，技法的相似不代表即是罗马或者戴维斯的再现。
镜头感超级好的一部黑白片，关于北爱尔兰的近代故事。
就算题材千变万化，肯导的风格也永远不变。打光和置景都太“干净”了，每个镜头都充满“设计感”，用力过猛尽显匠气。文本其实还不错，像是一封家书，从动乱到迁徙，儿童视角的表达很有四两拨千斤的效果。可惜文本和影像之间如同隔了一层薄膜，实在是不统一，挺别扭的。
