The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. 从19年到21年，鸡蛋与高墙，又是权钱交易又是黑警的，还有方中信最后的独白金句，十分切合时势了。开头一段交叉剪接本来拍得好好的，接着却很快把陈家乐的角色放在了次要位置，然后又生硬地把两位大状的取态近乎是调转了。整个故事走向和人物塑造，也很粗糙跳跃，无法令人信服。电影最后对鸡蛋撼高墙争取公义貌似给出了一丝希望，只是很讽刺地香港以后还会不会有这样题材的电影都是未知之数吧。
掲露香港几个问题：
自首的太生硬了，不过可能却很真实。剧本整体比较平。
主要是，方中信现在，真的很难不有一些daddy issue的……
很不错的片子，这个世界做什么都需要手段。。
boss一出场，就知道是boss，全片就在等怎么扳倒boss了。
应该是剪过很多东西，它想讽刺的，虽然很老套很TVB，但放在当下都适用。韩国电影都经常有这种题材，只是人家能够说的范围也大很多。不过人物太多，变得工具化。
结局不应该是，富一代干点权一权二然后自己当选么？

作为法证类作品，逻辑性有所不足，部分角色行为不合理，减弱了故事性，法庭及推理论证部分不足，更多的是理想化的台词和主题思想，比起巅峰时期的TVB电视剧系列都有所不足，不是港片粉丝不建议观看。
比想象要好，就是最后有种神之手破案的感觉…
