The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 3.5，失业男警察满世界寻找网恋对象算是一个很有趣的题材，我看着看着，才发现原来后半段才是影片的重点。男警察从直到弯的转变确实让人诧异，甚至让人怀疑后续强烈情感建立的基点，但在王家卫风格一般的光影世界里，这似乎合理，似乎也不够合理。私人荒漠，看似孤独，但只要付出了情感，哪怕最后一无所获，在干柴烈火之际，世界只有你我。

两个寂寞的人相遇，前期试探、怀疑，后期眼里已经有了爱意，还要目送另一个人离开。如果男主能陪着Sara去里约就好了。
故事刚开始感觉还可以，越看越乏味，与印象中的巴西电影有出入。
把老年痴呆的父亲留下交给还在上学的妹妹照顾独一声不吭的就去见网友，我一整个大震惊！在我看来男主就是暴躁的自私鬼，还好在小受临行前，认同了小受女扮男装，这份深情就留在自己心中的沙漠中吧。
如《月亮与六便士》一般选择逃离，去追寻软件背后那个打动你，牵动着你的灵魂。随后，你发现你爱的ta的灵魂，有着一副别样的皮囊。
影片出国前后太割裂了
你一直是你，我却不知道什么是我，直到我们拥有属于彼此的私人荒漠。导演真的很懂王家卫的慢性和调色，男男主角要到1小时左右才相遇。细腻的情感积累到最后热烈释放，那是冲破压抑盛开的共情之花。

节奏很慢，一开始不知所云，只是在描述两个人的生活，后来的寻找到见面，误会离开又重逢再分别，有点韵味吧也算，挺有趣的组织方式
很王朔。关于生死探讨的部分真的让人鼻酸。好电影，希望有更多人能看到。
森林不过是最初的起点，家养也未必是泯灭天性。天性不过是来自人类的stereotype。人类在与时俱进，但是对待其他生物却是停滞不前。
