The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. 有一些细节没看明白，如果拍成电视剧估计会更有意思一点，加入更多的感情戏和侦破桥段
抛去政治意义的话，感情线有点让人一头雾水。另，对这个电影男主的道德标准要求不能太高。故事讲述的顺序碎了点，如果教授的戏份提前安排出场，观众可能会更好理解。
画面磨砂质感的电影，整个片处于压抑氛围，调色也比较暗，party和两个人搞在一起那里气氛轻松点，最后简直是太刺激吓人了，开放式结局，男主很有责任心，卷毛大眼睛特别可爱，小警察怎么会不喜欢他呢

类似于历史长河中的一朵浪花，结尾戛然而止但并不能阻止历史长河滚滚向前。
整个片子的配色基调就是让人有在绝望和希望边缘游走的既视感
