The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. 动画制作都很好，就是情节的可预测性太强了。

这个电影里结尾处，妻子又消失了，母亲淡然地送走了女儿，没有人知道是真是假。可她出走的意义在哪里？可以开始新的生活吗？折磨的是自己还是丈夫？过去的关系没能理清，反而越搅越浑，似乎所有的相关人都自愿或非自愿地陷入了沼泽，人之间的关系都如悬丝，将断未断，令人惊疑不定。

颜色鲜艳有质感。奇观和海兽量太少，就有个大蜗牛壳和4个巨型海兽出场，既然剧情上使不上劲海兽场景上应该再发发力。最后巫婆的诅咒是实现了吗？船长失去所有。
8分。近两年最好看的动画，有当年驯龙高手的感觉。史诗级的故事加优美的画面，非常好看。
诚然，这不是一个新颖的故事，我们在很多电影中都看过类似的东西：一个局外人洞悉真相，最终将两个种族的矛盾化解。但考虑到这似乎是自《加勒比海盗》后，唯一一部真正描述海上冒险的电影，这一切又变得让人兴奋了。

是的，如你所见这部电影具有一切海上冒险题材所需的元素：神秘、怪异、险恶、喜剧、动作，精彩的配乐，外加媲美皮克斯的精致画面。剧情紧凑，高潮迭起，让人全神投入直到片尾字幕滚动。
虚构与现实的交叉重叠，是真也好是假也罢她都赢家。
