The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. 但两者偏偏凑到一起，以至于两个半小时的片长似乎依然没找到好的着力点，浅白平淡之余让人直呼可惜……

7.0 超长第一幕，陀螺的黑暗风格得以充分展现，剧情简单，节奏慢，头重脚轻，选角失败（男主）。童年创伤，怪人故事。
成功靠实力，运气，机会，等等等等，很多东西，失败只靠欲壑难填
恶人自有恶人磨，陀螺不拍夜戏不拍阴天戏违法是吧，库神跟小白脸毫无关系，演得不好别演了
寂寂无名的男人stan ，没有珍惜自己的机会，被欲望所淹没，在杂技团里利用前两个女性，无意酒给Pete反而害死了pete，那是的Stan还有些良心和愧疚，但随着时间的推移，Stan 贪婪越发的膨胀，一步一步，最终玩火上身，把最爱他的Molly 也伤透了，Stan害死了自己的父亲，天道轮回，最终自己亲手把自己变成了怪物。
结局确定完了吗？？魔兔的呢？？她俩带着钱远走高飞的画面呢？？
男主跟Ralph Fiennes都撞脸的程度了 分两段看的 说实话前面太拖沓了 剧情就像爱伦坡的小说
怎么说呢，陀螺拍非幻想类题材的电影的成功率与他能否克制住自己的恶趣味正相关。如果马戏团的部分稍稍克制些，成片会好很多。
权力的置换和命运的循环。大魔王这种扮相真的太美了。
cooper还不错，Cate Blanchett气场强大，吉尔莫托罗得影片画面总是很唯美，那迷人的血红，耀眼的金黄，就像是腐蚀男人心智的贪婪，最后归于宿命。Cate Blanchett太厉害，无论是何种面孔都能令人产生错觉，碾压了同场的Cooper，不过故事没有期待中的那么奇情，于是有点意犹未尽。
这也太长了，节奏慢，实在看不下去了。58分钟弃剧。
前面在嘉年华的部分特别喜欢，让我想起了当时看《巴斯特斯克鲁格斯的歌谣》的快乐。充满文艺色彩又满足猎奇。后半部分的故事逐渐拖沓，把时长拉到两个半小时，有点太长了。
德托罗本身不擅长黑色类型片，再加上现在是其创作低谷，一出白开水作品。摄影和布景的精致也显得苍白。
一边想用塔罗牌元素、教读心术的师父认为自己真的有神力，来表现鬼神力量，一边结局又用明知老板驯服怪人的圈套又心甘情愿入局的行为去强调人的选择，就很拧巴。甚至关于父亲的死也没有什么反转。🙃

尽搞些花哨东西，故事都没讲清，比老版逊色太多了
没看过原版，但Cooper和大魔王对手戏有点东西，所以后半段i住。前半段马戏团的剧情太长了，废戏挺多，删个半小时就好了
马戏团的戏难道不应该是个少年来演吗？！如同他所有的片子一样肤浅！
