The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. 我怀疑卢卡这个角色是在映射某个真实存在的人物 一个被阿富汗退役老兵联盟除名的退伍军人 他在冲突爆发后加入了乌克兰右翼民团并且犯下了战争罪行 和片子里的角色多少有几分相似

对于2月份开始，当前仍然继续的俄乌冲突，此片算是一个片面的诠释。影片表达的比较直白，不拐弯抹角。平民被“乌克兰志愿军”屠杀，表现的比较血腥，但整体剧情比较流水。配乐也比较机械过满，单单只为烘托，不能恰到好处。
对历史地理时事还算一知半解，但看这电影一半了，硬是还没看明白谁是哪边的（估计和翻译也有关系），不过画面各方面还是精良，
