The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 所有的记忆都飘向了第一部上映的2019年，当时还是在香港看的，被粤语翻译的各种人名搞到头大。转眼，真应了A New Era，戏里戏外都在告别。
唐顿，本质上是个大俗剧，双双对对匹配好的格局加上精心修饰的风波。然而人如故友，故而希望他们一切安好。
谁是谁都忘差不多了结果熟悉的钢琴一响起又都想起来了。葬礼和新生的交替完成了新时代的更迭。算是非常完满的Happy Ending了。

没想到自己竟然也到了会打出情怀分的年纪，但仔细回忆起来，第一次打开唐顿的时候自己差不多也还是一个十三四岁的小孩子，原来十年真的过去了，Carson好像更老了些，Lady Mary也不再是那个年轻女人了。新的时代降临在陈旧的宅院之上，历史感愈发凸显，其间还是哭了两次。
要说人生赢家还得是人家老夫人 一辈子啥啥都见过了 真好 Mary这过得是丧偶的日子啊 马修古迪这次干脆连面儿都不露了 我强烈支持Mary休了他再找！缅怀大表哥那段儿真的是爱情最好的模样了
但渐渐地，才发现他们的人生，都是被一段段爱情所串起来，甚至被拯救。
他们都有光明是未来，连最尴尬的莫斯利都是天才大编剧
前奏一响起，我就不行了。全程含笑，结束时恋恋不舍，怅然若失。
没看过剧，就电影本身来讲没什么好说的，感觉跟国产宫廷剧差不多
终于，全都结束了（看的居然是未删节Tomas剧情的版本，非常喜欢老妇人最后一句话，幽默、饱满、没有遗憾，也让还不能接纳死亡的我无比伤感）
旧的不去新的不来，于是老妇人成了画中人，那么高贵典雅的伯爵夫人。可曾有人书写她的故事？

很细腻流畅，佣人们上阵群演那一段特别温情，看之前毫无期待，看后竟然觉得不错，还想把剧也补一下。就是删减你妹，越活越回去了好吧

关于舞台的能量，神圣的高不可攀的，和亲密的触手可及的。不再无缝切换于情绪饱满的演唱与黯淡困厄的日常，用无处不在的舞台盛放演员的光芒，像保护荒岛上的火苗一般珍视着他们的当众孤独。这让那些强行点题拔高的段落都不那么惹人厌了，用可复制的无瑕的爱填充命运的裂痕，有时是鸡贼，有时是天真。
